Apparently, Bolivia holds the key to the future of the electric car. According to the BBC, the Salar de Uyuni is one of the few sources in the world holding the amount of lithium needed to keep the electric car of the future going.

It is a tough sell, specially at a time when the Bolivian government is in the middle of efforts to make that part of the country a tourist destination.
